A Tale of Two Maids

So, the new book is up. It's only been up for a day or so. I had good luck with giving Harem away for free at first. In 5 days, people downloaded 500 copies. Free downloads will tempt anyone. :)

Harem for me is the best book I've done since Little Brown Girl. It has a lot less plot, I think, but it just works for me. From beginning to finish, I found writing it exciting, and even now I find reading it exciting.

I found A Tale of Two Maids exciting to write, too, but you never know how it really reads until you've gained some distance.

A Tale of Two Maids is my little story about a wife who talks her husband into visiting a high-class resort as a sexy French Maid, and then things spin out of control. I'll leave that to your imagination.

Also, I'd like to plug Solar Harris, who has written two lovely stories: Acquired and Collected. If you like TG AND Sci-Fi as I do, these two stories are really perfect. One unexpectedly builds on the other, and there's a promise of a third story out in the Summer.

So, Second Life. . . . Does anyone play on there? I have two female avatars and one male avatar. Guess which ones I play the most! Aw, you peeked. With one, I'm having just a lovely little relationship with a female sub, which is a bit surprising, since I usually love playing the sub myself, but it's been really nice.

It does make me think a lot about being submissive in RL though. I'm so used to being expected to be dominant in my relationships that I almost can't imagine it any other way, yet I do long for it, but how would that work exactly? The truth is while I love the idea of being a submissive man in an FLR relationship, I'm afraid of reacting poorly. What if I freak out? What if I get mad at her when she tries to boss me around? What would my friends think? You can't hide that kind of thing for long. Even if no one comes out and says it, there's a vibe that is usually readily apparent.

I'm also on Fetlife, in case anyone feels like looking me up. I'm not very active there, but I like it because it's less of a dating site, less of a pay and get nothing but promises site, and more of a site where people do actually hang out and talk and post messages on the forums to discuss things they feel are interesting. And you can choose local groups if you want to connect.

I'm at a bit of a loss now though, since A Tale of Two Maids is done. I can go back to writing the Nine Portals series, which I would like to finish (I have another book that is ready to be posted, but I haven't felt the desire to do so - A Tale got in the way), but it's not a book that's really pushing out there like Little Brown Girl and Her Turn and Harem all did. Even Redemption did really well for the longest time and it's a short. It's funny that Belief got a little critical review for being too short for 2.99. I'm always seeing books that are 5000 words and even shorter at the same price, but then I tend to not buy those. Maybe 12,000 words is too short for 2.99? I really do care about people getting their money's worth. I'm not out to gouge or rip anyone off. I want them to enjoy what I've written.

Cover design. I'll admit, I'm not much of an artist, but I am enjoying making covers. A Tale of Two Maids is not one of my favorites. Maybe Belief is or Isolation. Isolation just has a nice look to it. I love it, actually, a naked pink-haired girl curled into the fetal position, floating in a bubble in space over a planet? I just think it turned out really well. I wanted something better for A Tale of Two Maids, but what you see is the best I could come up with.

If anyone actually reads these (except for you Robi, and I hope you finish your project soon and get it all edited - you know I'll read it), feel free to leave comments. I'd ask for some reviews on A Tale, too, but that can be a double edged sword, lol. On Harem, I was shocked my British audience (also my favorite country other than my own) posted some negative reviews. Oh well, what can you do?

Thanks to anyone who reads my stuff. I'll even make an offer. Post a comment here or send me an email (put Free Book or A Tale of Two Maids in the subject line), and I'll send you a free Kindle copy.

Harem - FREE for a limited time

Harem is the new book that's been plaguing me like mosquitoes on a picnic.

And I thought I'd try out the FREE promotion thingie that KDP (Amazon / Kindle) offers. It will be free from 2/18/14 - 2/22/14.

Originally I'd thought about posting it for free on Fictionmania. I haven't posted a story there in months and I miss it. Fictionmania has been good to me. It's been good to a lot of us. Far back at the beginning of the internet (gather round the fire, children), I found a few TG fiction sites. It was an eye opener. It was the first time that I realized other people had the same fantasies as I did.

I'd written some little knock-off stories by then, but nothing dramatic. My writing was mostly in other genres. I knew other people had the same fantasies as I did because their stories fit into my head perfectly.

Sites like Fictionmania made me feel almost normal and for someone that prides himself on being a little different, this was strangely important. So I posted a few stories here and there, nothing really good, but by the time I began posting on Fictionmania I was writing the kinds of stories I wanted to read, and they weren't cheap knock-offs anymore. They were stories that came right out of the root of my head.

Harem is such a story. It's in first person and it takes me back to the kind of stories I remember loving. It's about a far-off place in the Middle East that offers the ultimate fantasy: being a Harem girl.

Harem girls are sexy. One part stripper, one part Geisha, they're submissive and fun and in this story our hero decides to sign up and be one for four weeks. It is, at its heart, a hypnotic tale. My two top fantasies combined: TG and hypno (or it could just be the subby girl that drives them both).

When he gets there, all the control easily slips from his grasp. He slips down the rabbit hole and by the time he realizes what's happened, it's too late.

I ended up liking the story too much. I always do this. I write something for free to post on Fictionmnia, then turn around and fall in love with it.

So, it's free for the next 5 days.

If you like it, write a review. I'm learning not to read them, because the negative ones just ruin my day. If you really like it, write me an email.

If you don't, well you don't. There's nothing I can do about that.

I swear, the second I finished it, I turned right around and started revising it. I couldn't wait to get it up. I stopped revising only  long enough to design a cover. I find I'm enjoying designing covers much more now that I'm not drawing my own. Maybe it's just the chance to look at a lot of photos beautiful women.

On another point: Belief is still selling strong. Surrender (which I only published a few days ago) is off to a weak start. Redemption at the Rose Saloon is still outselling it. Everything else is just a trickle. Well, I didn't really get into this for the money, did I? Still, it's nice when I see the numbers, but then I only second guess myself anyway (Oh, they're just buying it for the cover). Well, maybe so, but I write because I like doing it. It's easy to forget that.

Series-interruptus (Oh, yeah, and a new book!)

I knew it! I knew it! I knew it!

I knew I would start this long nine part series and some other story idea (a.k.a. fantasy) would pop into my head and interrupt everything.

Also, I wonder about timing in publishing. "Surrender" was ready to publish a few weeks ago, but I'd just put out "Belief" so I wondered if I should wait and pace it or just plop them all out there. Well, I waited for a bit and watched. I'm not sure there is a benefit to waiting, except I guess I was trying to keep a nice, regular publishing schedule.

Anyway, I've had 2 stories plaguing me, wanting to be written, nagging my daydreams and last weekend I started on one of them. The Nine Portals universe has 4 stories written. I just need to revise the next 2 before publishing.

I saw a review on Belief, which always bittersweet. Sweet when I get good ratings (I know I shouldn't care, but I do; it's a matter of pride, ego?); bitter when someone doesn't like it. I try to remind myself that I write because I like it, not because others like it, but it's something that I struggle with. The review was positive, but it talked about "a few typos". Agonizing. I did a quick spell / grammar check and only found one typo, so now I'll have to go through the whole thing and see if there are any others.

If anyone cares to spot them for me, that would be awesome. I'll even throw in a free copy of a future work. Free stuff! See?

So the 2 stories that are to come in the Nine Portals Universe find Henry in the body of a futuristic cam girl (in a bubble in space of all things, always on display, always available). I hope it's nice and intense. The one after that has Henry in an android maid's body, programmed to find sexual ecstasy in chores and of course the usual sexy good times with her owners. These are both written and just need revised. The last one, which I have not yet started, has Henry in the body of a prostitute, a "kitkat" girl, a little neko (kitty girl) who is rescued / abducted by a space pirate.

The 2 stories I'm working on outside of the Nine Portals Universe are hopefully fun, too. I tried to find a way to fit them into Nine Portals, but they didn't seem to want to go there. The one I'm writing on now is called "Harem", where a nice young man indulges in the ultimate girly vacation (Harem Girl Bootcamp) and finds it far more seductive than he imagined. And finally, "A Tale of Two Maids" (also not yet written), about a husband and wife who decide to work at a resort for the insanely rich as maids.

So, there you go. More stories on the way, even with my normal job keeping me hectic and exhausted, and hopefully more fun.

Lastly, I worry that I'm charging too much for Nine Portals. I had this little conversation with Ann Michelle on her site about such short word counts for 2.99. In the review on "Belief" there was that remark. "...a bit short".

I'm still undecided. Should the Nine Portals series be .99? I can always put together a compilation when they're all done for a decent price.

New Book: BELIEF (Nine Portals)

The new book is up!

I've lined up nine, count them, nine stories in this series, but so far I've only written the first four.

I know where the fifth story goes, but I've been plagued by thoughts of another story. I'm not sure I want to take a detour from the Nine Portals series. Whenever I've left and come back to series before (in the non-TG related genres), I've lost the whole feeling of them. So, even though another story involving a wife and husband both becoming maids calls to me, I'm thinking I should stick with the series I started.

As you can see, I've also begun using photo covers, instead of drawing my own. Maybe it makes a difference; maybe not. I've not yet made a determination, but it does make the book look more professional.

I spent a lot of time actually looking at other covers, mostly from romance novels, but also mainstream and of course, the TG genre, just to get a feel for what's out there and what works best. I have to keep in mind when I'm making these that the covers are shrunken down to practically thumbnail size, so something that looks great in my photoshop doesn't look so hot when it's 1/8th the size. I guess that's what cartoonists have been complaining about for decades.

As a brief summary, the Nine Portals series will be a nine part serial about a wildly successful software engineer / CEO who gets invited to play a computer game. This isn't a console game though; it's created by a super computer that has learned to use a super collider to accelerate particles in small intense moving fields called "Portals".

Each level of the game (one per story) places him into a highly submissive female body in (of course) sexually charged situations. The heart of the story is the super computer. What does it want? What is it really doing? What is its end game?

I have it all worked out, but I have to fit into pieces over nine stories.

Four down, five to go, lol.

Part 1: Belief - Henry Young wakes up in the past in a woman's body, mesmerized and manipulated into fulfilling a man's deepest sexual desires.

Part 2: Surrender - Henry wakes up in the body of a barbarian queen about to meet her greatest enemy, only to be utterly seduced by him.

Part 3: Isolation - Henry wakes up in the body of Kiki, a "bubble girl", which is sort of a virtual cam girl in the future, a future where people can login and feel, smell, touch and do anything they wish if they have enough credits.

Part 4: Identity - Henry is an android maid, programmed to serve an unhappy couple. With what little free will "Fifi" has, she plans to serve her Mistress in the best way possible.

Part 5 is not yet written and therefore I haven't nailed down a title yet, but the idea is that Henry will find himself in a whore's body in the future, mostly human female, but with just a touch of feline, falling in love with a dashing pirate on the run from the law.

Part 6 - 9 . . . I have no idea. I think I won't know until each part is waiting for me to write it.
